Turkish Cargo Launches Freighter Flights To Mitiga, Libya
As of 08th January 2012, TURKISH CARGO launched scheduled freighter flights to the Libyan airport Mitiga, only 8kms next to Tripoli. Depending on demand, the flights are performed by TURKISH CARGO's A310 Freighter, which offers a capacity of 36 tons or by A330-200 Freighter which offers a capacity of 65 tons. The flights are operated with a weekly frequency of 2, Wednesdays and Sundays. TURKISH CARGO is one of the first airline, which launched freighter flights to Libya right after the local rise-up, supports efforts to normalize trade and business relations. TURKISH CARGO also carries cargo by using Turkish Airlines belly hold at its daily passenger flights from Istanbul to Benghazi.
