TACTIC, which has been used by Turkish Cargo for 25 years, was successfully exchanged with new generation iCargo system designed to fulfill the business needs increasing in parallel with increasing growth volume of the Company. Transition of iCargo to live system was conducted with the transition of Sales, Accounting and Operation modules to live system as of the second quarter of 2015 gradually. Engagement of iCargo was completed after the completion of the transition of Istanbul on 01.10.2015 which was the last and the most important step of the process of transition to live system.

iCargo, product of IBS company, was preferred for COMIS project carried out for the new system, and it was developed to meet the needs of Turkish Cargo during the project. In this process, both Turkish Cargo and IBS company had an opportunity to obtain considerable technical information. Along with New Cargo Terminal which was another important project launched by Turkish Cargo at the beginning of 2015, iCargo is one of the two important means for fulfilling long term strategic objectives.

Thanks to iCargo system launched with COMIS, operational capability and data quality of Turkish Cargo used in systems will improve and errors will decrease considerably with automated business processes. iCargo system is one of the most advanced technological solutions in air transportation sector and provides quicker adaptation to sectoral developments and remarkable ease of use thanks to its "community based product" function. iCargo will enhance service quality and operational efficiency of Turkish Cargo in keeping with its growth pace and help Turkish Cargo surpass its competitors by increasing its sectoral competition capacity in the long run.

The changes brought by COMIS are as follows:

  • Price information can be determined and displayed in synchronization with reservation.
  • International stations will manage their flights and enter reservation information from departure station to arrival station by themselves. The system will determine approved or reserve status for a reservation on the basis of certain parameters.
  • Errors will be minimized by ensuring automatic price control with "Rate Audit".
  • All transactions of cargoes in warehouse and ramp site will be carried out with hand terminals and thus losses and user errors will be decreased.
  • Location of cargoes can be tracked by means of warehouse management system instantly and their transaction history can be displayed.
  • All operations from the acceptance of cargo to loading the cargo to aircraft, from unloading the cargo to delivery to customer are performed with automatic business orders.
  • Many manual transactions such as calculation of storage charge, printing NOTOC, issuing import manifest after check in (break down) transaction are performed automatically.
  • The errors arising from manual entries and their effects on business processes will be decreased thanks to its parametric structure.
  • Reports will be more correct as data quality increases.
  • It will be possible to regulate the capacity with EDI messages to be sent by postal services and send replies to postal services to indicate the status of mails as a reply to EDI messages.
  • ULD messages will be created during takeoff and landing automatically and station stock will be updated. That will provide effective stock monitoring.
