Turkish Cargo Continues to Grow in Shanghai


Shanghai, one of the biggest cargo stations of Turkish Cargo, will become a station from which we serve with cargo flights 6 days of a week as of April.

Speaking at the cocktail where our new cargo service was introduced, Chief Cargo Officer Mr. Turhan Özen, thanked our more than fifty co-workers, who joined the cocktail, for their support. Despite his recent addition to the Turkish Airlines family, Özen stated that he had a chance to see the dynamics of the Chinese market and the Far Eastern team, and that with its new products and developing flight network, Turkish Cargo will continue to be one of the important players in the Chinese market.

Another guest, Mr. Sabri Tunç Angılı, Republic of Turkey, Consul General of Shanghai, reported: “In recent years, cooperation between Turkey and China has increased with several businesses. Widening economical and commercial relations has became more and more important. China is not only World’s second largest economy, but also Turkey’s second greatest trade partner. We can see that Chineese corporates have invested in Turkey, with the approximately 30 Billion USD amounted trade volume between two countries.”  He emphasized the economical growth between Turkey and China in his speech.

In addition to our existing 777 passenger flights, our cargo flights, which started as 1 frequency per week in 2013, increased to 6 frequency per week in 4 years. Shanghai, with its current position, was the 2nd highest cargo station in abroad of Turkish Airlines.

Turkish Cargo Vice President (Marketing & Sales) Mr. Halit Anlatan and our Regional Director Mr. Hüseyin Ceyhan gave plaques of appreciation to the customers who support Turkish Cargo the most. The new products of Turkish Cargo were introduced to our customers and business partners. During the product introduction, it was promised to start 7th frequency preparations as soon as possible for our customers who are asking for more flights.
