Dobrila, which started flying in Serbia and became exhausted on its seasonal migration route, was decided to be sent to the Biological Research Institute (Siniša Stanković) in Belgrade following the discussions between the officials of Serbia and Turkey. The 1.5-year old rare griffon vulture named Dobrila, the last chain of the ecological system and a member of the fowler family living in the Uvac canyon of Serbia only in Europe, was carried to Belgrade by Turkish Cargo.
After having been carried to Serbia from Sanliurfa via Istanbul under the sponsorship of Turkish Cargo which acts in line with its mission of respect towards animals' lives and nature in all its transportation operations, the griffon vulture was handed over to the Serbian officials during a ceremony attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Serbia, and the Minister of Environmental Protection of Serbia. We helped Dobrila return to its natural habitat without any problem, providing a contribution to protection of the wildlife as part of #MissionRescue.

Birth of the Griffon Vulture
She was born as one of the rare griffon vultures forming the last chain of the ecological system and living in the Uvac canyon of Serbia only in Europe. She was named as Dobrila, meaning "good-natured".
Migration Route
1-5-year old Dobrila set off on its seasonal migration journey towards the south to find food. After becoming exhausted on the 1600 kilometer-long migration route, she fell down on a land near the provincial border of Şanlıurfa.
Villagers Found It
After having been noticed by the farmers in, she was taken to the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Urfa. The griffon vulture underwent some checks and reached its proper and healthy weight again at this center in Şanlıurfa, and then, she was released to the nature to continue flying on its migration route, but couldn't fly.
Call for Help
When it was noticed that Dobrila couldn't continue flying, the officials of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry established contact with the Serbian authorities using the tag and tracking number, available in her foot. Following the discussions between the officials of the two countries, it was decided to send Dobrila to the Biological Research Institute (Siniša Stanković) in Belgrade. Then, Turkish Cargo was contacted for the transportation operation.
Flight to Freedom
She was carried to the Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade from Şanlıurfa with a connection flight from Istanbul under the sponsorship of Turkish Cargo, which acts in line with its mission to respect live animals and nature in all its transportation operations.
Return to Nature
She was taken from Belgrade, and carried for 250 km to the Special Nature Reserve Uvac which is not only a national part, but also a natural habitat for griffon vultures. Kept in the maintenance area for rehabilitation before being released toher natural habitat, Dobrila flew to freedom at Uvac, its natural habitat, on May 25 following the rehabilitation process of a few months.
