Digital Cargo

E-AWB application enables us to draw up the airway bills on the digital media. This eliminated the need to draw up the paper airway bills, and ensures more secure, up-to-date and accurate data transmission.

EAP: Used when there is a paper document accompanying the shipment. (Ex: pouch, consol manifest, etc.)
EAW: Used when there is no paper document accompanying the shipment.

E-AWB Transition Process:

1. Signing of MeA with IATA: The freight forwarder first needs to sign a multilateral agreement with IATA during the e-AWB process. Please visit the IATA website to obtain further information. 
2. Having a system supporting for e-AWB: The freight forwarder should have a system that is capable to transmit FWB messages in version 16 or 17 for its shipments or by using TK GO (Turkish Cargo Web Portal) all data of shipments can be entered. According to the status of your shipments, "EAP" or "EAW" should be used in the FWB message as the special handling code. 3. Transmission of high-quality messages: It needs to be ensured that all FWB and FHL messages are transmitted accurately, perfectly and timely. You can contact with DIGITALCARGO@THY.COM for detailed information or questions about quality of messages.
4. Activation notice: The airline company initiates the e-awb process upon sending an activation notice to the freight forwarder via IATA Matchmaker platform.

Single Process: E-AWB application is not applicable on some routes due to various reasons. Considering this criteria, the parties should draw up paper AWB using the electronic data, available on the system, if so required, and proceed with the transportation process. Turkish Cargo supports the 'single process' at its many stations provide service.

It refers to a written declaration including the security details of the shipment (the security checks it has gone through, contents of the shipment, the manner of preservation of the shipment). Submitting the relevant declaration to the carrier as a separate document or attached to air waybill has been regarded necessary by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)

E-CSD refers to transfer of this written declaration into the electronic media, and submission thereof to the competent authorities in the form of a message.

E-CSD Implementation Stages:

1. The shipment, to be carried, is subjected to some certain security measures by the known certificated persons as the known senders. In this way, it is declared that the goods are reliable and safe enough to be transported by air cargo while the cargo is transmitted to the agency.
2. The cargo, declared to be completely safe and protected, as well as the CSD or e-CSD, created by the known sender, are sent to the agent. Then, this declaration and cargo are sent to the airline or GHA by the agent.
3. Thereafter, this declaration is sent to the destination by the airline.
